Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney is an American-Lebanese barrister, human rights advocate and an philanthropist. She was born Amal Ramzi Al-Amuddin. Following her graduation from the Oxford University School of Law she went on to pursue an extensive and successful professional career within human rights as well as international law. Her notable clients include the people of Armenia which is fighting the Turkish government to get recognition and apology of Armenia's Armenian Genocide. Amal Clooney became engaged in 2014, and then was married in 2015 to American actor George Clooney. She instantly became an household name. Before that, she was already well-known and respected in legal circles because she consistently represented clients with skill and success. She has tackled human and civil rights concerns, to representing several multi-national corporations in court proceedings and negotiations over federal regulations. From 2015 onwards she worked as a barrister at British court in Doughty Street Chambers.
